Tina Page , our host on THE barge, iris, will be hanging up her panniers and switching her wheels for running shoes as she undertakes a mountainous challenge this summer to raise money for outdoors charities
No stranger to long distance biking and hiking adventures, Tina will be taking on her biggest challenge yet as she attempts to run over 800km (500miles) through her home country of Great Britain, and as if that wasn’t tough enough she will be climbing the ‘National 3 Peaks’ i.e. the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales along the way. Just for fun? Partly, but also to raise much needed funds for Mountain Rescue and Search and Rescue Dog charities, fully voluntary organisations who are on call 24/7 to come to the aid of people who get into difficulties in the hills.
